Terms of Use
Last updated October 14, 2026 · Plain language first, legal detail after.
The short version
Use Simplify1 to build better days, and treat other people well. Your data is yours. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google and you cancel them there. Simplify1 gives general encouragement, not medical, financial or professional advice. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 in the US or your local emergency number.
Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Simplify1, LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“Simplify1”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Simplify1 app on iPhone and Android, the web app at simplify1.org/app, and this website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Who can use Simplify1
You must be 13 or older. If you are under 18, you may use Simplify1 only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you. You may hold one personal account, and the details you give us must be true. You may not use the Service if the law where you live forbids it, or if we have closed an account of yours for breaking these terms.
Your account
You sign in with Apple, Google or a one-time code sent to your email; Simplify1 does not use passwords. Keep your phone and email secure, because anyone who can open them can open your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at once at Simplify1@its1app.com if you think someone else has used it.
What Simplify1 is, and what it is not
Simplify1 helps you track daily habits, gives each day a grade, and offers general encouragement and suggestions, including from an in-app coach that runs on your device. The grade is a measure of the items you chose; it is not a judgment of you.
Simplify1 is not medical, mental-health, nutritional, financial, legal or religious advice, and it is not a substitute for a professional. Talk to a doctor before starting an exercise, diet, medication or health change. Suggestions in the app are general and may not suit you. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the United States, call your local emergency number, or contact a crisis line where you live.
Your content and your data
What you enter — your items, ticks, notes, photos, name and messages — stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and show it only as needed to run the Service: for example, to grade your day, to show your name and public score on leaderboards and to the friends, groups and partners you choose, and to sync your devices. How we handle data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Ghost entries are encrypted on your device and we cannot read or recover them. If you lose your phone and your recovery phrase, your Ghost entries are gone, and we cannot bring them back.
You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it.
Community rules
Leaderboards, friends, groups, cheers and accountability partners only work if people treat each other well. You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, bully, demean or impersonate anyone;
- post hateful, sexual, violent or illegal content, or anyone else’s private information;
- spam, advertise, or send people somewhere harmful;
- manipulate scores, streaks, leaderboards, competitions or rewards, including by using more than one account or automated tools;
- use the Service in a way that breaks the law or anyone else’s rights.
You can block and report people in the app. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with or without notice.
Employer and organization accounts
If your employer or organization has an agreement with us, you may see a Work side with company goals and recognition. Your employer’s use is also governed by its own agreement with us. Your employer can see what you do on the Work side — company goals you complete and recognition you give and receive — but not your personal items, grade, streaks or Ghost entries. Your employer, not Simplify1, decides who is covered and what its goals are. If your employer’s coverage ends, the Work side goes away and your personal account carries on.
Rewards
From time to time we may offer rewards such as gift cards for meeting a goal. Rewards are offered at our discretion, have no cash value unless we say so, cannot be transferred, and may change or end at any time. Eligibility rules are shown with the reward. We may withhold or take back a reward earned by breaking these terms or by manipulating the Service. Rewards are void where the law does not allow them.
Connected apps and other services
Simplify1 can open other apps you choose, such as Bible, fitness or reading apps, and counts a visit toward your day. Those apps belong to other companies, have their own terms and privacy policies, and are not part of the Service. We record only that you opened an app, and we are not responsible for those apps or what they do.
Our app and what you may do with it
We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Service for your own use, under these terms. Simplify1, its design, code, text, grading method and branding belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, sell or resell the Service; reverse engineer it except as the law allows; scrape it or access it by automated means; get around its security or limits; or interfere with its operation.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time: in the app, open Profile, then Account & data, then Delete my account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we must by law, or if we stop offering the Service. Sections that by their nature should continue — such as content licences you have already given, disclaimers, limits of liability and dispute terms — continue after your account ends.
Changes
We improve Simplify1 often, so features may be added, changed or removed. We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using the Service after the change means you accept the updated terms.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, THAT GRADES, SCORES OR SUGGESTIONS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RIGHT FOR YOU, OR THAT YOU WILL REACH ANY RESULT.
Limits on our liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, SIMPLIFY1 AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50). Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law, or your content infringes someone’s rights, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs, losses and legal fees that result, to the extent the law allows.
Disputes and governing law
Please contact us first; most problems can be fixed quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court. If you live in a country whose laws give you the right to bring claims in your own courts, those rights are not affected.
If you downloaded Simplify1 from the App Store
These terms are between you and Simplify1, LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, failure to meet legal requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, or claims that the app infringes someone’s intellectual property; we are. You confirm you are not in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If you downloaded the app from Google Play, Google’s terms for Google Play also apply.
General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part, we have not given up the right to. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a company that takes over the Service.
